Program Overview:
The Social Work Department offers a program leading to a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. The program prepares students for advanced social work practice with families. Qualified applicants who have received a degree in social work, QPA 3.0 or higher, within the last five years from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, may be considered for Advanced Standing.

Admission Requirements:
Admission to advanced standing is competitive and the amount of course credit waived is dependent on equivalency to courses at Edinboro University. Course syllabi may be requested. No credit will be given for live or work experience or by examination.
- Completed graduate application.
- Application fee: $30.00 for new students, and $7.00 for returning Edinboro students.
- Transcript: Submit an official transcript reflecting baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution to:

Edinboro, PA 16444 - Received a degree in social work within the past five years from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE); a minimum QPA of 3.0.
- Three letters of reference. These should indicate readiness for advanced social work practice
- Copies of field internship evaluations and supportive letter form the applicants undergraduate faculty field liaison.
- A typed autobiographical essay answering the following:
a. What lead to your decision to apply to the MSW program at Edinboro University?
b. What do you hope to accomplish as a result of obtaining your MSW degree?
c. Tell us about one of your greatest life or career challenges to date, how you addressed it, and what you learned from the experience.
d. Tell us about the most memorable experience you have had with diversity. - A professional Resume
- If you are interested in transferring credits from another degree you will need to fill out the Transfer Credit Form and submit it to the address listed above.
